laptop fan

i have an hp laptop ze5200 pavilion running 2.4GHz intel p4 northwood 533fsb with 512ram, dvd-rom/cd-rw, 40GB, pc card for lan

once i start the computer, the fan is quiet, and afterwards, it starts becoming LOUD! and when i stop doing intensive apps or something, they stay at the same loud speed . . . even though all the comp is doing is running AIM . . .

anything i can do? cant send to hp until thanksgiving break cause school starts tuesday and i need the comp . . .

eww . . . i dont wanna take a laptop apart . . .

dont mind a desktop tower pc . . . but a laptop? i dont even KNOW how to take this one apart . . .

plus, if i do a shabby job of putting the screws back together, HP would notice if i send it in and they would void my 3 year warranty . . . its only 1 1/2 year used . ..
