OCing my E8500, Comment on my OC.

Well I just traded my friend for his processor. I gave him my terrible Q9550 that wouldnt post at 3.2 GHz for his E8500, cause he doesnt even overclock. Anyway I did some overclocking 2 Hours of OCCT Stable Mix Test. and 6HR Prime95 Blend Test. I want you guys to comment on it and tell me if I can improve in anything.

**Note the highest Temp it reached on prime95 was 77 C

Questions I have

1. Should I run this as a 24/7 OC?
2. Any settings I should change?
3. Is it worth it to do a pencil mod on a 750i
4. Is there anyway i can mess up anything while attempting to do a pencil mod?
5. Any pencil modding guides that you guys can show me?

EDIT: I really dont wanna run intelburn test because i think the temps would be crazy and its never really stable for me. Do you think OCCT and Prime95 stable is good enough?

yes prime stable is fine. your load temp is too high. have you tried your OC with less proccesor voltage? seems 1.4V is a little high for 4.2ghz. i had an e8400 that would do 4.2 @ like 1.3~V, which may even be a little too high.

Well I got it for free and it sucked really bad.

But yeah I tried 1.39 and it would lock up on occt I moved it up to 1.412 it was stable. I think my temps are messed up Im thinking the thermal paste. Should i buy some?

the pencil mod is definatly worth it.

I bought arctic silver 5, i have the ACF7 heatsink, what do you guys think about my volts? also is there like a 750i pencil mod guide?

use realtemp. i forgot that the other programs read wolfdale/yorkfield wrong. your temps are probably off by 10 degrees celcius.
