NEED HELP! Upgrading Graphics Card

ahh.. i didnt realize the 4870 was a smaller card... 10.5 was the specification of a gtx260/280 and 8800gtx... i thought it was the same size!

Well, my brother just ordered the Sapphire Radeon 4870 512mb version so going to see how it is on his and if it works fine, before I order mine. But I just saw a Sapphire Radeon 4850 x2. And its only 50 dollars more than the 1gb one I'm going to get it would be really stretching the budget but should I just get it?

what games are you mainly trying to play.. for the most part you just have to consider if the game would be crossfire compliant/friendly

All, the new games like Left4Dead, Cod WaW, Etc.. What do you mean by crossfire the Sapphire Radeon 4850 x2 is a dual gpu card plus my computer only has 1 pci-e slot so can't crossfire .

i'm aware that it is a single card... but it is 2 gpu's on a single pcb running crossfire...

I can max out both of those games on nos' 8800gts 640mb running at 1920x1200, so the x2 would be overkill.
