I want to upgrade my graphics card i have a Gateway Official Site: Shop - Desktops – LX6200-01 Product Details - LX 6200 01 Product Details
I want to make it into a gaming computer so which would be the best graphics card for me? The Newegg.com - XFX PVT98WYDFH GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards Gtx 9800 that also comes with farcry!
Or the 4870 sapphire radeon Customer Reviews Of SAPPHIRE 100259L Radeon HD 4870 512MB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail
I also have a 3rd option of of a 4850 radeon Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100245L Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
Also in order to get a new graphics card i need to upgrade my PSU
i was thinking of a Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Power Supplies But would this PSU be able to run it? Or a Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Power Supplies
My budget is around $300 What combination of these would you guys reccomend and you are also welcome to tell me what other PSU and graphics card would be good!
I only have a 22inch monitor but hoping to hook it up to the plasma

Btw just wondering why these 2? i was guessing ppl would pick the 4870 but i recently read something about drivers for the 4850 being better, and with a 22 inch monitor would i need a 4870?

well obviously the 4870 is the best performing one of all of them. i would get the 9800gtx+ tho. and a 4870 would do grate on a 22" monitor.

if you know how to OC then the 4850 can get close to 4870 speeds. and it will play most games fine on a 22" with very very high settings.

I'm confused... get the 4870.

It's beyond me why you would get a 4850, the inferior card if a 4870 is an option and still in your price range. Sure it can overclock to almost 4870 speeds, but the 4870 will clock to 4870 speeds, and you don't have to touch a thing!

i'd only get the 4850 because the 4870 won't offer too much more at his res. if he were to upgrade monitors in the near future then i could see it but otherwise it'd be spending money that doesn't need to be spent.
