My computer is stuck in 600X400 res and bit color. plese help!!

When you extracted the files where did you put them? Which of the .exe files are you attempting to run?

okay. so as far as the audio driver. i extracted them into a folder on my desktop.

i run the setup file that looks blue and has a pc on it.

try extracting the files to something on the root directory like C:\drivers and try it again from there.

this is some strage stuff... it just doesn't make sense..

i mean the alternative would be to buy a new new soundcard?

****!. i tried it and i think it would have worked. it installed half way then my computer crashed

i tried three times and the samething....

OK this is killing me. I have the same audio device that you do. So I killed mine to see what would work. I found that an older version I got here worked. It is like 3 years old but did the trick for me.

This is the driver name:
Realtek AC'97 Driver V5.10.00.5750 for Windows 2000/XP(WHQL)/2003.

I put my audio at risk ;-) for you so I hope it works

Check add remove programs and make sure you uninstall any other instance of the AC'97 drivers if they are there.
