hi,

before i shop for a x58 board for my next pc.

i would like to know something.

with the i7 chip, do i have a choice of installing dual or triple channel ddr3
or just triple channel.

i notice some of the boards ive looked at are ready for both dual and tripple channel ddr3 memory.

and if i can use either, what are the noticable benifits from getting triple channel over dual channel.

just wondering if its worth getting high quality dual channel vs low quality triple channel memory (i have a budget)

You have a choice.. but triple channel is the best way to go... that way you are guaranteed that the RAM runs below 1.5v (because the CPU and the RAM run at a synchronous voltage) and running above 1.5v will fry your CPU

could i get away with just 3gb while running vista.

or do you also recommend 6gb
