Problem with XP+dvd player

I have had a sony cd/r dvd player for about 2 months in my pc. It has worked fine up until very recently wherby it can read 1 dvd, and then if you try and play a different dvd it comes up with streams of errors and you have to restart the computer for it to be able to read the next dvd.

Bsaically it can only read 1 dvd/cd per session.
I presume its a problem with xp, because it can play the first dvd perfect.

Please advise how to fix this pluus where i cud get some drivers from.

Have you installed a program called INCD? It's usually bundled with Nero and other DVD software, either disable INCD via the taskmanager or uninstall it and see how that goes.

yeh i deleted nero and similar dvd programs and now it works fine

welll it was working fine, and without installing any any more software it has gone faulty again,
are there any other programs that might conflict with it that i need to remove, or a better way ofremovinf incd
