I will wait and see if I can stretch my budget (even more) and I might upgrade it ( to 9300). But is there anything else I can change?

Is the upgrade from 6600 to 9300 even REALLY necessary if Im not gaming?

It's not necessary per se, but philbar is right, the performance upgrade is really worth it. It's not just for gaming purposes, it's for everything you do. Later on down the pike if you decide to start using some programs that are heavily CPU intensive, you want to make sure you have the juice to power it, and with the 9300, it's more likely you will.

yes, it is the same cpu just runs at a higher clock speed.

i dont know why newegg's prices are jacked up like that.

my dad got my q9300 for like $240 about 2 weeks ago.
