Overheating Laptops

I am doing a project for my engineering class in which I have to pick a problem, justify that the problem exists, and solve it. I picked overheating laptops and now I'm tring to justify it. I have prepared this surey to gauge the magnitude of the problem. If anyone could fill it out it would be very helpful. Also if you know any really good existing solution could you tell me so that I can look it up.

I use a laptop cooling pad to keep my laptop from overheating, as such I rarely use it on my lap unless I take it somewhere away from my desk. To keep it cool while gaming/folding/etc I also have some desktop case fans hooked to a 9v transformer that I put behind it to keep it cool.

The problem is that people do not use there brains and there laptops at the same time leaving a laptop with its fan insulated by a duvet/pillow is not a good idea I have managed to get my laptop upto 85C doing that monitoring via speedfan. If the pc is on a desk then my tablet laptop averages 45C and my old laptop 35C.

I use a laptop cooler when I'm gaming or doing anything cpu/gpu intensive on my laptop.
