I wont buy any home or basic windows OS. I would only recommend pro or ultimate editions. They just dont have any problems like the basic versions do.

Another question, do you NEED an anti-static wrist strap, or can you just ground you self by touching the inside of the case?

Yeah, working on a good surface can help too i.e. don't build your computer on carpet.

lol...I've done that and never had problems!

As long as you make sure you stay grounded, or make sure you rid your body of the static charge you will be fine.

nice, but I live by the frys in Palo Alto. Would you guys recommend buying all of my components at frys though, or online like newegg.

Depends on whether you want to wait for shipping. Frys should be pretty competitive price-wise and you have to pay tax either way, so...
