How to wire speed control onto my vantec fan?

Are the soldered wires the only ones connected? Did you make sure the red and other black on the 4 pin are disconnected?

the vantec fan has 1 black and 1 red wire that are together with one of the black and the yellow wire on the 4-pin, the other black and red go nowhere but to the other 4 pin connecter therfore doesnt look to be of any interference with the fan....does this sound right?

whoa 6k rpm? how many cfm does it do and how loud is it on full speed?

i ended up getting a knob from radioshack and wired the power to the fan, and the ground and remote to the knob back to the fan, so essencially the fan is controlled by the negative side, works perfectly!!

then i put the knob into the asus 3.5" frame i had...

anyone know where i can buy the cases for 3.5" or fan controllers like that?

Its called a bezel and you should be order them from your case manufacturer
