Back up harddrive

Hey everyone,
When you completely back up the whole hard drive to put it on another does it also back up cookies, websites you visited?

When you save files on a flash drive and then delete them can you recover them off of the flash or are they lost?

Depends on the backup method used. A Image will take all that information. As it is a complete image of your hard drive as it is. Cookies and all. A normal backup, depending on the software used, could do it as well. But most Windows based backups dont.

There is software out there to recover files from a flash drive as long as you do not put any other data on there between deleting the files and trying to restore them. But it is not guaranteed.

How does a flashdrive really work though? It not like a HDD with spinning platters.

It is a solid state drive. Look on Wikipedia for the detailed explanation of what that is and how it works.
