New build, POP noise, Help!!!

Bad news.

Got everything together.
Installing vista...
POP noise
computer rebooted.

How long to defrost PSU that was delivered?
I waited a couple hours. (-5f windchill here today )
Could it be fine if I wait a couple more hours?
Or try another PSU.

Any ideas?

How are you sure it is your psu? Also, are you sure it isn't a clicking noise?

There was a pop the the pc shut off.

It does seem better now.
I put the thick power cord on
instead of my old thin one.
( 850w )

pop sound can range from components inside your computer blowing (pretty rare) or a short circuit (happened to me once)

Sounds like a capacitor or something. I'd check all your components for a blown/leaking capacitor, as the electrolytic fluid can damage other components if it's left there.

I am pulling it apart to add the cpu
cooler so I will look for any trouble.
