PC will run for 5 seconds and shut off after installing wireless-n card

tried that before, and it had to power off and power on to complete...same thing. I'll try a windows update and see too.

the only windows update that comes up is for the 56k modem that was removed.

installed the bios update for my mobo, the PCI and SM still come in the device manager.

You need to install those drivers. Google the manf and name of your MB to find the proper drivers.

ok I got all the drivers installed, went to start it up with the card installed, same thing. endless loop of on/off.

took it back out, worked fine.
