Trying to install drivers for my video card

Hello, I am having trouble with my videocard. I am trying to install the latest drivers for it but I cant seem to do it. First here is the situation. I have the video card installed on the board, it does not show in the device manager, and when i try to install the new drivers i downloaded off of the nvidia site it says something like " there are no drivers for the hardware in my system. Does anyone know whats up? its an ASUS motherboard and a Evga 9800gt

uninstall the old drivers an make sure they are gone mak213 recommends revo uninstaller and i have yet to read about it failing to remove the old drivers.

Remove them in safe mode along with driver cleaner and install it then.
You'll have a clean install.
