my boss is looking to get one of these.

i personally do not know anything about them, altho i should get myself one aswell, but thats a different story. ill focus on my bosses needs for now.

i dont know what kind of pc he has (model # and such) ....but i do know a little info.

im certain its a single core set-up as he said its about 4 years old.
he said he has windows xp.

my best guess is that he would have to get either an external or one that supports pci slot. is a usb an option here?

he told me he wants to cancel his cable and run off a tuner.
so i told him i would look into it and see what i could find. i was just at newegg checking out their product, but since i know nothing at all about tuners, i figured somebody here would enlighten me and possibly give me a recomendation.

thanks.

Hauppauge is the brand to look for. The next brand would probably be Leadtek.

I went with a hauppauge (I think it's a PVR150...) it works great - I bought it because of the built-in decoder, and the fact that the audio is also captured though the same stream (I believe with some cards you have to channel the audio separately)

I got it on ebay for about $30. They are getting cheap because they aren't digital.
