surge protectors dont offer battery backup though, UPS's have both surge protection + battery backup built in.

of course i have a surge protector... but that don't mean its not gonna shut off... lol

and if a hard drive turns off while its reading and writing.. that can't mean any good news

simple solution do not go on yoru computer in bad weather. also your ssd probably rights so fast itd be real hard for you to loose power gith as yoru writing no? like its possible but rare it would happen.

no... ssd's have HORRIBLE write times.. 80-90mb/s.... but read times are 140/150mb/s

thats mainly what a UPS is for... just gives you time to properly shut everything down

with nos's rig it would only last a few minutes! Tri-SLI i7 rig? come on...

What it would do is give you enough time to go rig up the generator and get it started. That way you could continue gaming even if the world was ending around your house lol
