So I never actually reformatted my system without reformatting both drives ( I have 2 HDs, one for the OS and games, and the other primarily for data ). My question is, if I reinstall windows xp with sp3, and leave the other hard drive unformatted ( the data one that mostly contains data files like music files and such ) will it work properly or will I run into any snags? I'm guessing I may run into a few issues because there are some minor programs ( like bench testing ones ) installed on this "data hard drive" and anything that had any stuff connected to the registry will be enabled useless.

Anything that needs to use the registry won't work. Everything else will.
