totally agree with zmatt on that one... cept i still think you'd be better off spending 15 bucks extra and getting RAID0 of 2 500GB seagates or WDs, and maybe getting OCZ Gold or G.Skill PC3-12800 sticks with nice timings (Newegg.com - G.SKILL 3GB (3 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory or Newegg.com - OCZ Gold 3GB (3 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory)... other than that, it'll be an absolutely sick build... thats actually what im considering getting when i sell my current rig (just the mobo, CPU and RAM, of course)

i'll try. here ya go.

Reason I chose the EVGA GTX 260 is that nvidia have some refreshes due out soon and you can use EVGA's step-up program for some kind of new hotness when it's available.

No GPU selected.. mass confusion on there and the one I as pretty set with is out of stock.
No Monitor yet.. still confused... and stuffs... blah...

Time to babysit again... be back on later

I honestly don't think the need is there for 6 gigs. But after everything else you still have cash then I would recommend it.

Also I would recommend the HD4870X2 for a video card. Except in Crysis It pwns all other cards.

And for monitors, I like to go with LG, Hanns G, and especially Samsung << They make the best screens imo.

Hmm SSD has me intrigued... but what would be the best configure for SSD drives... ... ..

*Idea*
Small SSD drive for OS/etc then a 64 for like games and such and a traditional sata for mass storage?

currently windows takes up (xp) 3.2GB space.. if we double that.. and round up.. were talking 10GB for OS and swappage.. right?

So ideally 15GB of usage on a drive would be perfect for this... so .... a 30GB SSD partioned into 2 parts one 15GB, one 14.whatever remaining would be Ideal for OS and a install/backup drive from one Harddrive, not to mention incredibly fast correct?

Take one step more... 2 30GB SSD running in Raid0.. this should be the optimum speed and performance correct? Running SSD in Raid0 and then a larger capacity SSD for games and lastly a Data drive (although the data drive will be Sata, it will not be SSD due to limitations on size with SSD right now. Not seeing any 1TB SSD layin around :p)

is this even possible??

I believe I am going to skip the Vista Age and just use my old windows XP pro disc until 7 hits. (yes I know this means that my RAM won't work)
Question:
Can I buy/use the 3x2GB sticks of RAM, even though windows will only recognize 4GB? or will this cause problems and issues and possibly hurt the parts?

Personally, I like my drive setup like this:

Drive 1: OS
Drive 2: Games/Apps
Drive 3: Storage (media, pics, important stuff, pr0n, whatever :D )

If I were buying new and had mucho funds I would want:

Drive 1 = 32-64gb SSD with pagefile disabled or split between drives 2/3 ideally
Drive 2 (or 2/3) = 640gb Samsung F1 or 2 x 320s in RAID 0
Drive 3 = Samsung F1 1TB or Seagate 7200.11 1TB or WD 1TB
