Video performance - crossfire

I am thinking of adding a second graphics card in a crossfire config but will it give me a performance boost when I do not utilize it for gaming. I do mainly graphic editing and use Photoshop CS4 with graphics intensive plug ins.
I have a sapphire HD3850 card with 512 and was thinking of getting a second to get to 1gb of ram. Worth the $89?

What resolution are you playing at and what kinda games do you play?
What speed is your current processor?
How much ram do you currently have?
Are you running vista or xp?

I do not play games but do graphics/video in photoshop CS4. I have a 9850 Phenom on a ASUS M379t MOBO, 8gb ram,vista 64x on a raid 0 (2 -velociraptor 300gb)

I run my res at max on dual monitors - LG 24 and HP 22. (Not in front of them now, on laptop)

a workstation card may be more up your sreet then although the extra 3850 will give you a nice performance boost gettin one second hand ould be prefferable
