Need Help with building a computer

Hey, I was wondering if this is a good build for a computer. I want this to be a good gaming computer, enough for the latest games out there (COD4, Left 4 Dead, etc).

I know I don't have a sound card or cd/dvd drive but I can get that if needed. I just want to know if this set up is good enough and if the components will work good with one another and not have any malfunctions. Any tips/suggestions will be appreciated. It would be great if anyone can give me a better build for around $400 if necessary. Thank you.

its pretty much the same as what you've got with a few minor changes... the RAM has tighter timings and is the same price, the PSU is cheaper, but still good quality, the mobo is P35 based, which will work well for you, unless you wanna do some SERIOUS overclocking... also, either the 4850 or the 9800gt will give you alot better performance in the games you mentioned...

altogether that'll be either $471.14 with the 9800GT or 491.14 with the HD 4850... although you can get by without a case or DVD burner for a while (you can just use old OEM junk until you need new gear)

Btw you do know you need an operating system of some type either linux or windows if you want to game with windows being preffered

Oh yeah, I have a Windows XP disc at home. Thanks I'll be checking out the stuff you guys mentioned. One question, does it matter what power supply i get, because some people tell me that I should get a stronger one.



PS- Im also wondering if this is a good package, performance and price. Instead of the Intel cpu, Im deciding on an AMD one. Does this affect what graphics card,motherboard and/or memory i use?

Oh alright, I'll change that then. Does it matter what cpu I buy, such as the Intel Bong mentioned or the AMD one I mentioned? I just want to make sure before I order anything. Also does anything affect anything else? Like does the hard drive affect the ram? or does the graphics card affect the ram? Im new to this and don't really know much. Thanks the help
