they're the same thing, although i think with 9800GT's, you MIGHT get a 55nm version which would save you a little power....

you think if i grab the 600 mhz evga 8800GT and sli it with my 8800GT XFX 640 mhz it would be ok and just jump up the other one to 640 mhz?

I'm sure the xfx will downclock to match 600mhz. You can use both cards

Whichever is clocked higher would be faster..

9800GT and 8800GT are the same card...

It would downclock the faster clocked card though.. but 40mhz is nothing.. you can OC the other one to the same speed
