Keep in mind I want a fast computer for the following things:

1.making music, and encoding music....as well as video..(fruity loops, adobe audition, m-audio recording and pro-tools)

2.gaming.....and never having to worry about how much stuff i have open! lol

2 bro, you will have a nice motherboard, and you will be able to upgrade very easily later.
 
i was looking at the msi on newegg and they say it doesn support sli? the only one i have found that does, ewiz.com sells and its 299 and the one on msi's website...called the eclipse..

what board do you know for sure supports sli?
 
ohh man i voted for q9550 when i meant to vote for i7 xD, def go with the i7, no point in buying the old tech now seems i7 is becoming more mainstream fast. i agree go with tthe gigabyte, asus stuff is just the most common thats why you see so many good review, just liek the p45 chipset, gigabyte was best at first untill asus boards became cheaper and took over because they are the most known brand.
