Bro get an E7200 a 4850 and a better heatsink if you can sqeeze all of that in. But get Ubuntu instead and save for Vista later or something. Besides Ubuntu comes with enough software and extras that you don't have to worry just in case your student.

Yeah gaming on an Ubuntu is more then possible, you'll probably be using redwine 90% of the time though. But that's not necessarily a bad thing.
