I would get the UD5, the extreme has like extra LEDS or something, and has a better heatsink, that you won't need, unless you plan to fry your mobo, which is impossible, because I think the cap for a 920 is 4.4GHz.

The DS4 is 16/8/8 pci-e speeds, which isn't as future proof.

What numbers could I expect from the DS4 alone? I plan on playing the max res the video card can offer. 2500x1*** or something of the sort?

27" monitor actually 780p I believe so I may not be able to achieve the resolution I desire. I am leaning towards the ud5 because of the dual 16x versus 16x 8x.

You cand do that, but it gets hot. I think they are coming out with a new Sapphire 4870X2, and it's similar to the 4850X2. But the other Sapphire 4870X2 is pretty good. What's the default resolution of your monitor?
4870x2: Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100251SR Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB 512-bit (256-bit x 2) GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
4870 1GB: Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100259-1GL Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
@Nos
I use a 52", GGnoRE. Haha, it's like $1500 at Fry's, and it has brillant colors.
