LOL your CMOS is playing music :p. All of those random symbols means the CMOS is accessing memory that has nothing in it called garbage (programming terms). Did you ever flash your BIOS or did it come like that?

aye
I just flashed it

those symbols didn't go away :\
everything seems to run fine though.... maybe just on the surface

and now that my wireless adapter is here
I installed it
everything still ran fine
so I went ahead and installed SP1
now one of my drives are not showing up in my computer

it is recognized in bios
and when I go to device manager, if I do scan for hardware changes, it shows up briefly but goes away in like a minute
while its checking for hardware changes, explore freezes =\

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
why does the tech spirits do this to meeeeeeeeeeeeee

what's your specs?
hmmm I keep thinking this could be a software issue since it worked fine before SP1 but here it is

board
Biostar TP43d2-A7
Bios flashed to the latest
CPU
E6300
RAM
4GB OCZ Reapers
GFX
HD 4850
optical
ASUS drw-2014s1t dvd burner
hard drives
can be seen in imgs below

shows up here

I've installed tons of updates along with SP1, only if I can figure out which one is the problem....... so aggravating...
its the drive with all my music on too!
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
sorry, wanted to scream so bad....

You could either go through all your updates one by one or do a reinstall of Vista and install them one by one. Both pretty tedious tasks but there isn't any way to really do it. The first choice would probably be less time consuming.
