Recovery Console Trouble | Admin Password

Hey, I have 2 admins setup on Windows XP Pro, and I just tried to do the Recovery Console because of some troubles, and it asked me for the admin password, and I tried both but they didn't work, and then did it a 2nd time to make sure I wasn't typing anything wrong, but it still gave me "invalid password", so whats going on here?

Me. I have 2 accounts, both admin.

What was the the admin password you gave during setup, thats the one that is needed. By the way what OS?

If you read my post it says Windows XP Pro. BTW, when I first installed XP, I didn't setup a password.

Then your password should be blank.

Tried that, doesn't work.

Boot up in safe mode go to admin account control panel & reet password.

I cant get into safe mode, thats why I need to use the Recovery Console. I cant get into Windows at all. Before you ask, I'm on Knoppix.

What are the error messages you are getting maybe we can get around recovery console. The best action of course is to blow the OS away and start new.
