Anyone using solid state drives yet?

SSDs from what i read from wikipedia have lower writing speeds and consume more power, thus if u have an SSD for ur laptop, expect ur battery to run out of power faster then a normal HDD installed.

bold part worries me.
 
more power? i don't think so:| from what i read they use less..and it makes sense, no moving parts...

but yea, they do have slower write times. if i was to get one it would be a cheap/small one just for OS
 
their write speeds are in a sense irrelevant if you use it as an OS disc. they read what, like 2x as fast as a regular drive? read read read.
nos hurry the frig up already.
