Will this ram work in a non SLI motherboard?

I know this is such a rookie question.. lol..

and im 99% sure it will work.......

I just need a second opinion.

Newegg.com - OCZ Platinum 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

I am buying it to squeeze the last bit of performance out of my system

I run Athlon x2 5400+ @ 3.3~GHZ
Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800mhz @ 415mhz 5-5-5-18 (or 450mhz 6-6-6-16)

So im thinking, i can clock this ram at 476mhz (238 FSB) with 3332mhz core, which is effectively the MAX im going to be able to get my system.

(the core wont go any higher, regardless of the memory or HyperTransport speed)

And those timings are GREAT~! 5-5-5-15 @ 1066!!

if im running them @ 952 i should be able to reduce the memory timings to 4-5-4-14 even!

which is awesome at that speed=)

so, will it work in a Foxconn a7vmx-k? its not sli....(i've tried some of my friends patriot 1066 and it works fine, but ... i cant STEAL his ram lol)

Thanks for the recommendation=)

The main reason im getting it is because of the price point (33 dollars!)

And they are shiny ^^

Im not sure what the difference is between these 2 sets..

I'll go with the set i chose, they are shiny, they save me 10 bucks, and they should do fine (at least 5-5-5-15) @ 952=)

(im hoping the combo of low timings, and high clock speed is going to increase my superpi time a little, i only need 200ms to beat Hussein lol.. and thats my goal)

You realize 5,5,5,15 are standard timings for 1066mhz ram right?

Impressive timings are anything CAS4 above 920 or so mhz IMO

You don't need SLI..I am using these sticks
Newegg.com - OCZ SLI-Ready Edition 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

Which i recommend over yours....they are the best sticks I've ever owned and do 1200mhz 5,5,5,15 on only 2.18V

However for tight timings they are not the best....I haven't had much luck getting them to even run CAS4 on at 900mhz.

from what ive heard both sets are not too good at all, those run at 2.1 minimum out of the box already, which is not good at all. i think he would be lucky to push over 900 on those things let alone reducing the timings.

most people reach about 9xx on them with command rate at 2T and 5-5-5-15 timings.

even thought u dont need a huge overclock anyway i would get these
Newegg.com - G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory
those things are monsters, often reaching over 1000mhz, b1gapl (old member) had his at like 1100mhz when we were comparing my HZ's to his NQ's. mine atm run 4-4-4-12 out of the box at 1.8v.

Did you actually read my post? The ram I linked is 1066mhz stock, why would he not be able to push over 900, seeing as that would be underclocking? And I HAVE this ram, as I said before it easily does 1200mhz on less than 2.2V (rated for 2.3v max) and I can do 1180 5,5,5,15 on only 2.14V

b1gapl's 1100mhz is easy. My ram doesn't even need 2.1V for that

btw, where did that kid go?!
