If ive built a PC for someone which im selling, and they request no OS, how do i tell if everything has been installed properly? I may wish to do a 12 hour stress test on the system before sending it out.

I was thinking maybe something with one of the countless Ubuntu LiveCD's i have laying around... if i do that, what programs and such should i use?

Or maybe i should grab a harddrive with Windows on it and hot swap it?

just install windows and test it all out then format before giving it to them. at least you know it works and they probably have a copy they plan to install themselves and want to save the coin on having you install it.

Yea, of your can get a windows boot disk that loads windows on cd. Usually checks if everything is working. Or you can do the ubuntu method. It loads ubuntu on cd, and u can test out the internet browsers, and all the drivers.

Okay, so yeah, im thinking that installing windows then formatting may indeed be the best idea...

That way i can use 3DMARK, memtest and such. Thanks guys.
What would be the best way to format the HDD then? Good old DOS boot disk?
