i tried to slightly move the hdd an inch with the pc power on ..80gb seagate IDE..i did it because the cables were clustered.....there was a spark in power cable slot of hdd..i turned offf computer.....tried to plug hdd back...**doesnt get detected*

takin it to seagate warranty centre...is threre a way they can fix it?? i see some hardcore technicianns can fix hdd that is totally dead.?

sounds like you shorted it out, all they'll have to do is replace the PCB on it and it should work fine doubt it damaged the head and platters

They will most likely give you a replacement drive instead. As h4x3r said it was just the board controlling the drive that blew.

Yeah...iam getting a replacement as the harddrive wasbought just before 1.5 years.....i have made arrangements for pc hdd...tHANks
