2 questions....

Ok, I have 2 questions, which don't really relate to each other.

1. As I was looking for an OS, I came across this:

Now where it says the thing about having to be purchased w/the hardware...what does that mean???

2. My processor is P4 2.8 GHz (sig) and my mobo allows me to overclock it up to 30%. How high would it be then?

ok lets do the math.
2800 x 30 / 100 = 840
840 + 2800 = 3640

you should get around 3.6ghz.

newegg won't sell you the operating system unless you buy some form of hardware from them.

3.6Ghz...that's quite a jump of speed there!
And apparently if the system goes unstable with this overclocked speed, I can set it back to default 2.8Ghz...can all mobos do that?

It is lame, Nubius...I'm on a SUPER tight budget...like $100, and I'm trying to find XP home (not the upgrade) for that much or less. grrrrrr...

a copy of Xp pro? whenever I try burning microsoft CDs, it doesn't work...but you can't be serious, can you?

Why don't you try eBay? I'm almost certain you'll get it for less than $100 there. I'd recommend Professional over Home though.
