I would like to also drop the price to not go above 1100

Considering droping the HDD to something a bit lower.
I would also like to change the case but i dont know if a mid tower can fit two of the cards

whats a SLI board i can use thats not too expensive?
Changed the build to ASUS P5N-D LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI motherboard

Its only going to be on a 19inch monitor so don't think it would need the 1gig 4870.
Hows the porformance difference between the two on a small screen?

Ive heard 4870 only really beats it on a bigger monator and thats the 1gig.

Do you guys know of a better full size case, or should I just go with a decent midsized? I don't know how big the video card is if you can SLI it in a midsized tower
and 260 core 216 SLI is better than the ati x2 right?

Keep in mind that the person will not overclock

most are just like 1680x1050 anyway. unless u spend a fair bit of cash on it. just go with either the 4870 512mb or core 216 (whichever is cheaper) so i rec 4870. for the mobo the 750i is prob the best chioce. but i would rec. since he is not going to overclock it shouldnt matter too much. good chioce on the ram too!

What about the case

my issue is that he wants the opportunity to SLI in the future if needed. I do not know the size of the 260 216 core. Do you guys know a good midsized case or do i have to stick with a large one in order to SLI this card?

Also is there any other suggestion for parts?

i can fit 2 gtx 280s in my centurion 5 case. and its a mid tower. yes, the 260 will fit in a mid, so will another one. a full tower is always a good idea, if you can afford a decent one and have the space.
