As soon as the x58 and the I7 core comes out I will be purchasing those. Well in 2 weeks. I will be purchasing one more x280. A 1200 psu and 16 gb or ram. I dont need any of this stuff I want it. So call me crazy stupid whatever I dont care I want a really kick butt pc. I also plan on getting a liquid cooled system. So I have pretty much everything decieded. I am spending alot on my overall system im not goin to cheap out on the hardrive. I dont want to bottleneck my pc. And I know that the performance is very similar I just need help making my final decision on the hardrive.

I seen that the new I7 core proccessor can hit 5Ghz which is insane. I would be happy with 4.5

Ok based on what I was told I am goin to the intel x25-m. My next question would be if i put 2 into a raid what kinda performance do you think I would get. If i remeber right anytime you raid then you get much better performance.

I bet by the time something is any close to one, and a half times more stressful than Crysis, there would be a 16 core, pwning an i7. But what is the i7 advrtized to be usd for? o_O

i7's are only 4 cored cpu;s with hyper threading arent they? or are you refering to the newer i7's that will be cuming out with octo core?

Game, like no one has gamed before. You can never have too much cpu. If you don't use it with today's games, you will use it with tomorrow's.

WOw its a about time someone gets it. Incredible cpu kick butt Hardrive, 3 sli 280 gtx and 12-16 gigs of ddr3 im getting excited just thinking about it. I will have it in about 10 days as long as all the parts are out and I will post pics and benchmarks for everyone. Iwill also oc to at least 4.5 on liquic cool.

4.5*8 = 36 ghz you dont wanna know what im doin thingking about that right now:) eeww gross lol

Ok i built a pc that I am goin to get off of newegg. Now let me say I put up a fake proccessor and motherboard. As soon as I get my settlement and They have them I will buy this setup

HECK YEAA!!! lets not forget the part that 2/3 of it won't be used!!!! YAY FOR UNUSED OVER EXPENSIVE ITEMS!!!!!!!!!!! YAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!

i'm sorry, but you have no clue what you are talking about. tri-sli scales like crap, with 3 cards you will very little boost from 2 cards...scaling of it is crap. RAM.....anything over 4 is a waste, only reason to get 6gb is to complete tri-channel. ohhh boy! look at that zalman pre-made WC setup that's worthless :| if you're going WC at least go to a good website and find parts to make a setup. WC'ing is like PC's, it's best to make your own.

yea...i'm mean, sorry..but i dislike seeing kids go on about spending thousands on a system when a $1200 system can do the same. People don't realize that there is a price-to-performance ratio when it comes to computers....and after about $1500 you're spending a ton of money for VERY VERY LITTLE performance increase.

EDIT: nehalem/bloomfield/core i7 (all same thing) is a quad(4)-core CPU...not 8.....

Correct ^^

Except the last part.. its a 4 Core.. but its HyperThreaded like those Pentium 4's used to be (but are not crap like they where)
