Hello everyone,

Well, I recently purchased a new HD, and installed Windows XP Media Center 2005 on it. Afterwards, I installed my vid drivers, along with my wireless connection drives (via CD). I had no problems until I tried to increase my internet speed by using a cable (ethernet) ((I've always had better speeds using cables)).

It seems that there is no network that recognizes my ethernet connection to my modem. Under my "Device Manager" 'ethernet controller' is found under Other Devices with no drivers available.

My comp specs are the following:

Gateway Intel (R)
Pentium CPU 2.8GhZ

If there is anymore information regarding the issue, please let me know.

Thanks!

Which model of Gateway do you own? It should be a matter of downloading and installing the correct chipset drivers.

If Windows update or update driver doesn't find a driver then go to Gateway's site and get the latest driver for your model.

Gateway: GT5012
Intel 82801

I've attempted to find the right drivers but haven't had any luck. If you need the Serial # let me know as well.

Thanks for everything so far!
