Whats about the HD 4870?

That's my pick.. or the GTX 260 Core 216 if its around the same price as the HD 4870 (but I think its quite hard to get it for under $250 unlike the HD 4870 which is the exact same performance)

the core 216 is pretty much $300, thats a bit pushing it, the 4870 is about $240, not counting the mail in rebates

if its the exact same performance, wouldnt the 4870 just be better ? so basically the 4870 overally owns the GTX 260, 9800GX2, im not even going to mention the 4850

Not in Crysis.. nVIdia kind of worked with CryTek on the game so it purposely runs better than the AMD counterpart of that card in Crysis

Kind of a cheap shot.. but what can you do really.. haha

Get the HD 4870... get the DX10 Very High Hack for XP and play @ 1440 or lower..

The gtx260 or 4870 are the only cards you should really be looking at if you plan on going 1680 or above in resolution. The gx2 is a POOR card. Trust me i had 2 of them, and now have 2 gtx260s and 2 4870s. The GTX260 is going to give you a better warranty (evga) and it seems like the new drivers (180+) are pulling a lot of extra performance out of the card.

ok so than its set, im getting the GTX 260, my friend it telling me he can get it for $160 with his discount at BB. Now for the cooling guys ? what should i do, my mobo doesnt exactly have to much 2 or 4 pin connectors, like 2 or 3 possibly, im not sure, maybe some of you guys that know this can tell me.

or is their some kind of extender or something that you can get ? if their is or any other good ways to cool, let me know please, so that case i mentioned in my first post would go perfect with my mobo ?

How about that for a good card. Newer than the GX2 and will kill crysis at 1680. Plus you get free far cry 2 and $40 mail in rebate
