Video card upgrade question

HD 4870 is a little faster than the GTX 260 but equal in performance to the Core 216

Ya most definitely... even the cheapest Core 216 is still a good bit pricier than the HD 4870

The only reason I would see in getting a Core 216 is if you have an SLi motherboard, and/or if you already have a GTX 260. Otherwise, I'd pick the 4870, as it's relatively the same performance, cheaper, and a bit more efficient.

But I say its a good deal... just not enough justification to pay the extra money for around the same performance (unless you GPU Fold)
