The pc I am on I will have had for 3 years this February, and I am upgrading then. I have never overclocked this or any other pc in my life. I saw a topic about getting the best bang for your buck when upgrading that included something about overclocking. It said you can make something 1/10 of the price run the same speed of something 10/10 of the price if it is set up right. It also said the overclocking has become very safe in the past 4 to 5 years. However, when I saw an overclocking guide, it said it is extremely dangerous. Is this pc that I have any good for clocking? I'm only going to be using it for a few more months, but cod waw is lagging for me, and I would like to improve performance.

Dxdiag: (I had to cut a bunch of it off because of the character limit, is there a way to add attachments?)

Not all Dell's are upgradeable. Now a days more and more Dell pre-builds are upgradeable. But when some one says Dell, I usually assume its 2-3 years old.

=D thats why i said it may not fit in the case

the funny part is the Dell advertisements=P

i cant stand pre-built systems

i mean even if it was the best of the best EVERYTHING

i would still tell them to ship it in parts, =P

i doubt you could ever get the performance of a system that cost 10x as much without spending a whole lot on upgrades (mainly cooling) to get such a cheap system stable...

secondly, you're still using that relic from Netburst... i wouldn't wanna OC that without some serious cooling gear... unless you want a fun way to dispose of your old computer! lol

nononono

a relic is my AMD 5x85 133mhz @ 180mhz (thats almost 200mhz on a 80486~!)
with 128mb of 40ns ram WOOO
and a voodoo 2 in SLI

*drool*

best file server, EVER

^^DUDE!! thats a beast setup right there!!^^

lol... i got a rig with similar power sitting on the bench beside me! rofl
