Ram Corsiar vs OCZ, need a decision

Hmmm a lot of conflicting opinions here...have some questions

1. Is 5-5-5-18 standard timings for 1066 mhz ram or not?

2. Newegg.com - mushkin 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory, what makes this ram so great? its expensive and has 5-5-5-15 timings

3. If Im going to get a brand new 4 gig set, isn't it probably best to go with 1066 since I already have 800? ( hence a mhz upgrade even though performance differences aren't very large )

You only need 1066 sticks if you have a chip with a low multi and plan to run higher than 400 FSB.

Those corsairs have pretty nasty timings for 800mhz ram, they are the same as the 1066mhz reapers. Having said that if you are on a budget the corsairs arent too bad for the prices. Timings really dont have that much impact i dont think (there is another thread about it somewhere atm).

Look at their voltages. The corsairs are 1.9v and the Reapers are 2.1. I bet those corsairs will do 1066mhz w/ 2.1v easily

hmm well since I have a q6600 and the max overclock is 3.6 ghz, which equates to 400 fsb, I guess I won't need the 1066 sticks then right? ( for all intensive purposes I consider the max OC to be 3.6 and even that requires a lot )

Yep, find a good set of low latency ddr2 800. My reapers run 4-4-4-12 at 2.1v.
