These are my laptop specs:

AMD Ahtlon 64 x2 Dual-Core Processor TK-55 1.80 Ghz
Ram: 1GB
32-bit

When I boot up from the shutdown position it takes 1minute and change to boot up to desk top fully. Once its done, it takes Internet explorer to open to home page approx 45 seconds. I think this way to slow for what the specs are.

Can anyone help me make this boot faster or operate faster, seems to really slow IMO

Thanks

It isn't ever going to be lightning speed until you upgrade your RAM to 2 GIG. But, if you want to get the performance back to where it was when you first got the computer follow these steps.

1)Run Anti Virus scan (as thorough as you can make it)
2)Run Spyware removal (like Spybot S&D)
3)Run disk cleanup
4)Run disk defrag
5)Run disk check (click both boxes then you will have to reboot for it to start)

See if that helps...

Your boot up time isn't too bad for your CPU speed and amount of ram. But there seems to be a lot of programs still loading while IE is loading. Run msconfig and remove any unnecessary programs from startup. Just having IE loading at startup will slow the loading process of necessary programs. More ram will help, but it won't eliminate slow loading at startup.
