Toshiba screen is smaller than before the reinstall

I have a Toshiba satellite. When I reinstalled Windows XP Pro, the format on the screen is not wide enough, what gives? The right side is black space, about 1/2 inch from the side.

Is it off center or can you not see part of the screen (like part of the time is blacked out).

I think they are two totally separate issues, if it is just off center you should be able to calebrate that within your display settings.

If it isn't off center and there is just a black bar on the right side, then your monitor could be dead on that side.

Did you install all the necessary device drivers after re-installing Windows XP?

Its probably a widescreen laptop and using default 800x600. Make sure you install the graphics driver.
