best low profile graphics card...suggestions?

I am looking to get a low profile graphics card for less than £100 for my dell inspiron 530s - i've got a standard power supply and preferably don't want to change it at the moment because I'm not very good with the technical stuff!

The HD 4670s are great cards and are decently cheap, try finding a good sale on one and you should be set :]

100 pounds will get you a decent card if you had a good psu.

Just look at the 4670 as said by SuxoR, or maybe the 8800gs/9600gso.

What wattage is your psu??? What is the make as well???

I've got a 250w but according to the support forums on dell this is underrated and should be good for between 300-350w max output

someone has recommended 8600 GT 512MB from Chaintech, should I risk it with my power supply?

Go for a 4670 instead and look into a cheap earthwatt 380 PSU.

If you can't find the Antec Earthwatts, I have a Thermaltake 430W XP550. I think there great, my friend runs a 4850 of his and they are really cheap.

9600GT performs better but it does consume more power than HD4670

If you are trying to upgrade a Dell Dimension 530s, then you will not be able to use any of those cards due to the size limitations of the case. The only thing I found that might be worth the investment is Newegg.com - KFA2 by Galaxy 96GFF6VIFCXX GeForce 9600 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Supported Low Profile Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards. I couldn't find an equivalent browsing through a few UK stores.

The 9600gt looks just as big as any other cards suggested.

Have you got the actual dimensions of the card?
