Hercules Digifire 7.1 sound card and creative speakers

Hi,

I am planning to buy a Hercules Digifire 7.1 and planning to but Creative 5.1 or 6.1 speakers. I was told by a dealer that Creative speakers work well only with Creative sound cards. With a Hercules the sound quality might be poor. Is that so?

not really. creative's speakers use connectors which are mostly only work with creative's soundcard.
