will an intel 80486 processor support AGP?
at first i thought not,as it operated at a max of 33MHz.but further reading suggests that intel came up with the 486dx2 chip that allowed clock doubling-thus producing 66MHz.they later tripled the clock speed with the 486dx.
now if iam correct,AGP will be ok with 66MHz clock speed,so therefore the answer is yes.but i want to make sure that i am correct with the above,as initially i was leaning towards PCI rather than AGP.your response would be greatly apprecited!

I think AGP is a bit *new* for an 80486. I have one of the DX2 (66MHz) chips in a system, and it doesn't even have a PCI slot! It runs on 1MB onboard ATi graphics. I'd probably look for running an ISA graphics card in a system of that age if I was you, since this will probably prove more stable.

TMT.
