QUESTIONS:

1. Someone suggested I get a Samsung monitor. This monitor is $120 more expensive then the one I currently have listed. To my uneducated eye both monitors seem to have the same resolution etc.. am I missing something? (Newegg.com - SAMSUNG T220 Rose-Black 22" 2ms GTG Touch of Color series Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 20,000:1 - LCD Monitors ). What about this 28” monitor; It cost only $400 – should I sacrifice some quality for a bigger screen? (Costco - HannsG 28" Wide Monitor True 1080P with HDMI 3ms 800:1 500 cd/m2 )
2. Someone also suggested I go with a different PS; the SeaSonic M12 SS-700HM 700W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS12V V2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply. It costs x2 more then my current supply. I know I asked for help finding one at newegg but is this my best option? If so, why is it so much more then my current one – which was also suggested by someone?
3. Case Fans – Iam under the impression that I wont need any extra case fans? What do you think? If I do how many do I need and what size?
4. Many of you suggest I get two HDs RAID configured but I don't know what to order to make this happen… Can someone help me by making suggestions?

Thanks again for your help – I will wait until I hear some more feedback. If it all checks out I WILL BE ORDERING THIS BEAST THIS WEEK!!!!

Case: Do you care about the case? You want Mid Tower or Full Tower? What color do you want it to be?

Motherboard: Are you going to CrossfireX or SLI now or in the future? Are you going to overclock?

CPU: Q9650 isnt worth the price right now. Q9550 for a quad is good. Do you want to go with a dual core?

GPU: Are you going to Crossfire the 4870?

RAM: You want 2GB or 4GB?

HDD: How much space do you need?

Optical: Do you burn DVD or use Blu-Ray?

OS: Vista or XP?

To answer your questions...

- I made another last minute changed based on the input from a friend who will be helping me build this beast: Antec 900 midtower

- As for crossfire/sli cards.. I plan to go with just one card but would like the option to upgrade later... which is my board set up for?

- Going w/ 4GB Ram

- DVD is enough for me

- Vista 64 bit

I would stick with the P5E Deluxe, after veedub had two DFI boards die on him I no longer recommend them.

Those Corsair dominators are very overpriced, this gskill ram is good and significantly cheaper.

Newegg.com - G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

I recommend getting the sunbeam Core contact, it cools better than the xigmatek and comes with a good mounting system and TX-2 thermal paste.

Wow Prototype... your making this a completely new build... I dont think Iam going to start all over agan.. I have spent a few weeks researching in an attempt to build the best rig possible and still stay under $2k. However, I will probably take a close look at the ram you suggested.
