well cache is where the instructions are stored before the enter the execution core in a cpu, basically the more cache the better. i dont know a whole lot about it google how a cpu works and u can read a whole 10 pages about it. nah 16gb is not required for gamign at all, you wont even notice anything above 4gb for gaming and even video editing etc. for home use.

only problem is i dont fully entend it to be strictly home use... i plan to host an mmorpg from this, so is 4gb mem gonna sustain that, or should i bump it to 8?

4gb should be sufficient...8gb could help but I'd start with 4gb for now. Just make sure to get a 2x2gb kit so that you have 2 free slots for more mem

the only thing left is to throw in the water cooling, which i need suggestions on, and the case mods. I want to go with blue, but the front fan is a 230mm x 30mm with red leds, and much to my avail I havent found a replacement with blue leds...

its funny you should mention that, I was considering it... is there any specific paint that I should use, or just get a can of spray paint for sheet metal?
and if you happen to know of or hear of any place that has 230mm x 30mm fans with blue leds, i'd appreciate it...
