I've successfully installed XP on my Toshiba Satellite (original Vista.) During the install, the computer wanted me to partition the hard drive. I tried not to partition the 120 gig HD but the installation failed.

I then tried the reformat again and partitioned 20 gigs that I thought were for the XP operating system. The XP install was successful with the 20 gig partition. However, I just looked at my system properties and it said that I've got a 20 gig HD with about 15 gigs of free space :(. The other 100 gigs is "gone."

Is there any way for me to get my 100 gigs back without reformatting my laptop again?

philbar, thanks for the information. I went to disk management and I can see the free space that is actually "92.25 GB unallocated."

How do I format this to ntfs?

Do I just run the "New Partition Wizard" under the Action heading up at the top?
