Nobody knows whats down the line. Like zmatt said, i don't see why you would get a card that loses by 10 frames on benchmarks to the 4870, just because "it looses by like 10 fps when its getting like 120 fps so who cares..."

Later down the line that 10fps might be the difference between playing on medium or low settings, it might even be the difference between keeping the card for another 6 months or buying a new one.

If the 260's where cheaper than the 4870, then i would see the point.

It's also possible nvidia could get pwned in those games. Not knowing means just that, it doesn't mean you can assume that what you want to happen will.

Agreed. We don't know what the games of the future will be like, and we have no numbers on how a 5870 actually performs, so anyone who tries to predict how it will stack up to a GTX350 and vice versa is full of ****.

exactly... when new games come out stressing our current cards... more then likely we will just buy new cards...
