18271 with q6600 at 3.6 and sli 260 at 700mhz. Going to crank it up to 4ghz and see if i can break my 4870 score. I'm thinking my 680i is limiting the cards.

good news is the cards are downclocking correctly. 300mhz core, 600mhz shader at 2d.

thats lower then yoru 8800gts score no? didn you break 20k? you should be capable with the gtx260 sli. otherwise try and pick up a 750iftw for them. i dont think pci-e 1.0 botle necks yet.

No its almost certainly a bottleneck. At 4ghz, and 700mhz core on the cards, i only hit 19567. Admittedly i am on vista now and hit 20k on xp with the 8800s. So i think the 8800's were actually close to saturating the bandwidth. I think i'm going to pick up a 780i from microcenter tommorow on the way home and see if it makes any difference. Yay for 30 day returns ><

Also, i'm idling at 45C at 1.6v and 4ghz.

Gonna run it again at 1920x1200 and see how much it drops. Also a vantage run.

Ok i'm not sure how to feel about this. I scored 18965 at 1920x1200 resolution. Be back after a vantage run at 1920x1200.

Ok i'm even more confused now. PC mark vantage "performance" 19755. 17071 gpu score, 37394 cpu score. Starting to think 3dmark06 is just crap. Going to run it at extreme settings.

Vantage extreme settings hurt a bit. 8812. 37355 cpu score, 8472 gpu score.

I NEED ME SOME BIG BANG II. I want my dual monitor support!

its his mobo's pcie slots bottlenecking, not the cpu.

How can he bottleneck on the pciexpress bus with an X48? dual 16x 2.0, it doesn't get any faster.

you cant sli in thos dumbdumb. hes using his old 680i with no pci-e 2.0 on it, if he had a 750i ftw or 780i he would have 2.0. anyway ya hes testing his gtx260's.

If that were true, my quad run at 4ghz with 2 260s running 700mhz would be higher than my runs with 8800GTS cards.
Anyway, i'll know tonight when i pop in the 780i.
