okay.. i have a Athlon 64 2800+ at 1.8 ghz and a k8v mobo.
it's about 35/42 celcius. (regular/heavy)

I'm trying to overclock it. I went up to 220 fsb. (9x220)=1980ghz. and the moment it loads windows, it starts rebooting. y is this happening? I didn't even overclock it that much

oh. so it could be the ram, or ram timing that's making it restart my comp?

if that happens, do i have to increase or decrease the ram thingies to see if it works

thx for the info musjunk.

i went back in to bios and looked at voltages.

I saw DDR voltage, AGP voltage, and CPU voltage.

you should inrease the voltage on the ram. I think somewhere around 1.7 is good.

I checked ddr voltage but there were only 3 options. 2.6, 2. 7, 2.8

you said around 1.7 was good but wut are these 2.6, 2.7, 2.8 voltages

lol. okay.. got some bad news..

after i changed the ram voltage to 2.7 v, i got the black screen of death

now i don't know wut to do .. my cpu voltage was at 1.575

will your computer still boot to the bios? at least just enough time so you can set the default settings really quickly. i know mine as an option to where i just press a button in the bios and it sets it back to factory settings.

ya that's wut i did. i press a button and it let's me switch back.

but the thing is. i can't even overclock it 2 ghz. isn't that pretty pathetic?

is there a solution?
